The Burn Center at Detroit Receiving Hospital

Here when you need us most

The Burn Center at Detroit Receiving Hospital is the premiere adult burn care facility in Michigan, fully equipped to treat any type of burn injury. One of only three burn centers in Michigan, our Burn Center at Detroit Receiving Hospital provides unparalleled care to hundreds of burn patients each year, in both its inpatient unit and ambulatory burn clinic.

As Michigan's largest adult burn care facility, within a Level 1 Trauma Center, our Burn Center is fully equipped to treat all types of thermal injuries, including: flame, scald, electrical, chemical, radiation, frostbite, compartment syndrome and more. A self-contained critical care unit within Detroit Receiving, the Burn Center features a spacious operating room, patient lounge, patient and family consultation room, and two hyperbaric chambers. The Center also features a hydrotherapy facility with three whirlpools, two showers, a lower extremity shower table and a dressing change area.

Our dedicated Burn Center team understands the physical and psychological impact of burn injuries, and focuses on restoring total well-being to burn survivors while maximizing physical function, as well as psychological adjustment.

We understand and focus not only on simply healing, but also on restoring a sense of well-being to burn survivors.
