Life Stress Center

In addition to the physical trauma our patients experience, there are also psychological reactions to major injury, illness, and/or emotional stressors in our lives. Whether individuals seek services for psychological trauma, grief, anxiety or depression, Detroit Receiving is here to help.

Our psychology clinic specializes in helping crime victims and trauma victims, but we also provide services for general psychological issues and life stressors. The Life Stress Center offers individual therapy in the outpatient clinic. Crime victims can elect to receive help filing a crime victim’s compensation application (to help pay for medical care) and may also receive emotional support and therapy.

Our patients often have various stress related symptoms, which may be reactions to trauma. For some, symptoms may be related to a recent event, while for others, the trauma was in the distant past. The Life Stress Center is an optional choice that provides healing beyond the physical injuries.
