The survey was created by U.S. News & World Report to provide more relevant local information for consumers. Detroit Receiving was recognized for providing “high performing” specialty care in these areas:

- Endocrinology (glands)
- Ear, Nose & Throat
- Geriatrics
- Nephrology (kidneys)
- Pulmonology (lungs)
