If poisoning is suspected, you need to act quickly. If the victim is a child, try to remain calm so as not to frighten him/her as you ask the child what he/she may have ingested.

Call the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222.

1. Do not give anything to eat or drink – including syrup of ipecac – unless directed by the Poison Center.
2. If vomiting occurs, do not discard.
