Michael A. Stellini, M.D. has
dedicated over 10 years of service to the Detroit Medical Center (DMC). In
August, 2005, he was named vice president, medical affairs,
Detroit Receiving Hospital, succeeding Padraic Sweeny,
M.D.
Stellini, who joined the DMC in
1992, will also serve as the medical director of Palliative Care Service for
Detroit Receiving Hospital and
Harper University Hospital, as well as hospice medical
director for Karmanos Cancer Institute and section chief of the palliative
medicine section at Wayne State University School of
Medicine.
He earned a bachelor of science
degree in cellular and molecular biology from
University of Michigan, a master of science degree in
nutrition from Michigan State University and his doctor of medicine
degree from Wayne State University.
Stellini is an assistant
professor and clinical educator for the department of internal medicine at Wayne
State University School of Medicine. He is a member of the
American College of Physicians, the Society for
General Internal Medicine, the Medical Ethics Resource Network of Michigan and
the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative
Medicine.
