Pat Natale has 25 years of committed service to Detroit Receiving Hospital. She earned a B.S.N. in 1963 from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.S.N. from Wayne State University College of Nursing in 1978.
She joined what was then Detroit General Hospital’s staff in 1978 as a nurse practioner, with primary care for adults at primary care nursing services, University Health Center. During her tenure as a nurse practioner, she gained responsibility for managing operations in the clinic and became an adjunct faculty member of Wayne State University’s College of Nursing.
In 1987 Natale was promoted to director, with responsibility for managing operations of the hospital’s nursing department and all inpatient units and in 1997 was given Detroit Medical Center-wide responsibility for intensive and critical care units. Two years later, she was promoted to vice president, patient care services, with operational responsibility for: inpatient nursing, psychiatry, crisis center, emergency department, operating room, clinical resource management, transport, dietary, spiritual care, anesthesia, advanced practice, primary care nursing service and admitting.
Natale is a member of the American Nurses Association and On My Own of Michigan. She resides in Troy.
