Mildred C. Matlock,
Ph.D. joined the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) 28 years ago and held various
progressive management and administrative positions including vice president of
ambulatory services at RIM. She was the chief operating officer for the
Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM), from 2000 to 2008. She served as
Clinical Services Administrator, Rehabilitation Ambulatory Services for the DMC
from 1996 to 2000.
Since joining the
Detroit Receiving Hospital staff in January 2009 as the vice president of
professional services, Matlock oversees multiple patient care and professional
service lines. She also contributes
to performance, cost conservation and quality care initiatives in conjunction
with Receiving’s strategic plan.
Matlock earned her
undergraduate degree in speech-language pathology from Wayne State University,
Detroit, Michigan as well as her graduate and doctorate degrees in
speech-language pathology from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. She
also earned a graduate degree in administration from Central Michigan
University, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
She
is a member of numerous professional organizations and community societies,
including the American College of Healthcare Executives, Neighborhood Services
Organization board of directors, and the Anthony Wayne Society board of
directors, Wayne State University, among others.
