Reginald J. Eadie, M.D. is a board certified emergency medicine physician by training and is currently the President of DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital. For the last 15 years he has dedicated his time and research to addressing challenges facing inner city youth, and eradicating overweight and obesity within the state of Michigan. His first book, entitled How to Eat & Live Longer, has been highlighted on multiple best sellers’ lists. A second book, Eating from the Tree Of Life is soon to be released. Dr. Eadie has been featured in Ebony Magazine and has been heard across the country in person and as a guest on multiple radio shows.
His works embrace the premise that “my people perish because of the lack of knowledge”. As a product of the Detroit Public School System, Dr. Eadie has committed to giving back to the citizens of Detroit by sharing what he learned during his studies at Wayne State University School of Medicine, while working in Detroit Emergency Departments and as a weight loss physician for more than eight years. While training as an intern at Detroit Receiving Hospital, the nurses created an “Intern of the Year” award for him, and it has been given out ever since to an intern who shows dedication, commitment to quality care for patients and the highest interpersonal skills.
